Empowering Girls To Be Creative, Confident, and Self-Sufficient!
About YES

Developed by the Michigan Association for Female Entrepreneurs in 2004, Young Entrepreneurs Series (YES) is an educational program that provides top-quality, hands-on entrepreneurship education to young girls age 14 to 18.

The goals of the YES program are to increase and improve economic opportunities for young girls and to teach young people in Detroit how to build businesses that create jobs and contribute towards economic development.

The YES program strives to build the individual capacity of young girls from underserved communities.  The YES program focuses on entrepreneurship capacity building, leadership development, global citizenship, and community involvement. YES program activities provide a range of competencies and life skills that are measurable and have meaningful outcomes.

Through the YES program, young girls are given an opportunity to develop the attributes and skills associated with entrepreneurship including creativity, innovation, self-confidence, planning and risk taking.  With the YES program, young girls will learn to be successful business owners or employees throughout their teen-age years and on into their adult life.
